Fossil fuel companies keep raking in obscene profits while our bills shoot up, and our planet gets hotter. We can’t keep paying while they profit.
Our governments must break free from oil and gas. Temporary windfall taxes aren't enough.
We're calling on the EU and its member states for stronger, permanent taxes on all oil and gas profits – taxes that make these destructive industries less profitable and redirect investment away from fossil fuels.
The money from these taxes could shield households from rising energy costs, fund renewable energy, and support communities facing the worst impacts of climate change.
Polluters must pay – not us. We can't leave this to the market. It’s time for Europe to act.

Tell European Commissioner Hoekstra and EU Member State Finance Ministers
We call for:
- Governments from EU member states to implement stronger, permanent taxes on oil profits at the national level, immediately
- The EU Commission to play a coordinating role, on how to use proceeds from these taxes and setting a minimum tax rate
- Governments from EU member states should champion “Polluter Pays Tax on Fossil Fuel Profits” in the UN Tax Convention
