Tell Trudeau:
Extreme heat, wildfires, and floods are hurting Canadians, while the fossil fuel corporations that created the climate crisis rake in record profits.
Climate disasters take lives, harm communities, and cost us billions each year. It’s time to make polluters pay up.
That means immediate relief and direct support for communities affected by climate disasters, along with decisive action to get at the root cause of wildfires and extreme heat by speeding up the transition to renewable energy.

Dear Prime Minister Trudeau,
Canadians need relief. Paychecks for oil and gas CEOs are soaring while working people across the country struggle with the rising cost of living. At the same time, supercharged heatwaves, wildfires, and flooding fuelled by the climate crisis that Big Oil created are devastating our communities.
We shouldn’t let corporations profit from putting us all at risk. I want you to hold fossil fuel companies accountable and make them pay to fix the problem they created. By taxing Big Oil’s excess profits, you can fund immediate relief and direct support for climate-impacted communities and get to the root cause of this crisis by accelerating the transition to renewable energy.
These companies don’t care about our communities or our climate. They’re spending their record profits on share buybacks, dividends, and executive bonuses. Let’s stand up to them. The UK and the European Union have already implemented this common sense policy. It’s time for Canada to follow suit.
I urge you to make the fossil fuel companies that caused the climate crisis pay for the surging costs of extreme weather. Tax Big Oil’s excess profits to fund climate disaster response and a rapid, just transition to 100% clean energy.
