If enough of us show the Treasurer Jim Chalmers that the public don’t support taxpayer funded handouts to oil and gas multinationals, we can create a big incentive for him to scrap them.
The previous government promised over $2 billion in taxpayer funded handouts to oil and gas multinationals - this kind of waste just doesn't stack up. This October, Labor must clean up the Budget and scrap Morrison’s fossil fuel subsidies.
Fracking and drilling, both onshore and offshore, for gas poses a major threat to our climate and communities - we don’t need more gas fields, we need renewable energy and a government looking to the future.
Scrapping these subsidies would be a win for the climate and a win for the Budget.
