Last September, the previous UK government approved the development of the controversial Rosebank oil field. We believe that this decision was not just a disaster for the climate, and morally and economically wrong, but unlawful.
Claims that drilling Rosebank is compatible with a safe climate don’t add up - and our partners at #StopRosebank will prove it in court.
Not just one, but two cases have been filed against so we can #StopRosebank - one led by Uplift, the other by Greenpeace UK, and both will be heard in the Court of Session in Edinburgh.
The new UK government has already admitted that the decision to approve Rosebank was unlawful. This is now a straight fight between a liveable future and oil and gas industry profits - and the Government's admission makes a win likelier than ever.
