Dear President Biden,

Enbridge continues construction on its Line 3 tar sands oil pipeline with many legal, safety, and environmental issues still unresolved. We're writing to ask you to do everything in your power to stop construction, including immediately raising your voice against it.

We know construction on Line 3 poses huge risks to our communities. Bringing people to construct this project in rural and tribal communities brings with it the increased potential of sex trafficking, which the state acknowledged in the environmental analysis they prepared on this project. Additionally, frontline leaders are already reporting increased tension and threats of racist violence. We urge you to revoke the 404 water crossing permit.

We’ve seen time and time again across the country that big oil companies build their pipelines as quickly as possible before appeals are heard in court. Don’t let that happen with Line 3.

This pipeline is too big and it’s impacts are too great for you to wait. We now need your leadership to not only protect us from the harm that constructing this pipeline will cause for all of us, but to also make sure we keep working together for a clean, just, and equitable future.
