No pipelines on a burning planet. No to Keystone XL!

Donald Trump is threatening to revive the Keystone XL pipeline, even as our communities are reeling from a summer of fossil-fueled heatwaves, wildfires and smoke.

But Keystone XL was a bad idea when it was first proposed in 2008, and it’s a worse idea now. Building KXL, or any new pipelines, would be like pouring fuel on the flames of the climate emergency.

We’ve stopped Keystone XL before – and this is the moment we’re made for. 350 Canada and 350 US are joining forces to tell Prime Minister Carney: No pipelines on a burning planet. NO to Keystone XL.

Tell Prime Minister Carney: Say NO to KXL

To Prime Minister Carney:

The Keystone XL pipeline (under any name) would be a disaster for our climate and our communities. The facts of this project haven’t changed since it was first proposed in 2008:

  • KXL will transport tar sands oil, one of the dirtiest forms of oil on Earth, and the pipeline will put the communities, land, water, and species it runs through at risk.
  • KXL is a climate bomb. Building it would be like pouring fossil fuels on the flames of the climate emergency.
  • KXL violates Indigenous rights and land sovereignty.
  • KXL will lock us into volatile, expensive fossil fuels at a time when Big Oil is raking in record profits amid a cost-of-living crisis and never-ending wars for oil.

I stand with the Indigenous land defenders, local communities, and climate advocates in Canada and the U.S. who have spent more than a decade fighting the Keystone XL pipeline. No pipelines on a burning planet. NO to Keystone XL.

Sincerely,

Tell Prime Minister Carney: Say NO to KXL
