The U.S. must end fossil fuel financing now!

As people in the U.S. weather yet another summer of climate disasters, the U.S. government continues to fund the fossil fuel industry behind our backs through the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) — an agency that funds projects overseas, including fossil fuel projects.

EXIM approved $901 million for fossil fuel projects in 2023. But EXIM also has the power to do good — by redirecting funding to renewable energy projects. But, they’ll only do it if the U.S. commits to a bold climate action plan and bans fossil fuel financing at EXIM.

Add your name to our call for a ban on fossil fuel financing today.

Dear Chair of EXIM,

As communities across the U.S. experiencing yet another record breaking summer of climate disaster, the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) continue to use our public money to fuel the climate crisis by funding fossil fuel projects overseas.

But it doesn't have to be this way. EXIM has the power to do good – by redirecting our money towards funding equitable renewable energy projects. With COP negotiations coming up, EXIM must be bold and commit to an ambitious climate action plan that build a better future for all of us. And it must start with cutting out fossil fuel financing.

As the Chair of EXIM, please use your power for good and end fossil fuel financing now.

Thank you
