Rising gas prices aren’t a result of inflation — they’re the result of corporate greed. If Big Oil corporations were raising prices in line with inflation, they wouldn't be earning record profits.
And when it comes to fighting price gouging, Americans are in agreement: Democratic and Republican voters alike overwhelmingly support the Consumer Fuel Price Gouging Prevention Act.
But every House Republican voted against the bill that would combat price gouging by oil and gas companies and help Americans at the pump. This bill will face an even more uphill battle when it goes to the Senate, which is why we need to build an enormous amount of public pressure.
