Today, we’re calling on AIG to completely rule out their support for the East African Crude Oil Pipeline.
If built, a third of the pipeline would run through the basin of Africa’s largest lake – Lake Victoria, which more than 40 million people depend on for their livelihoods.
Local activists have been working to halt EACOP for years. So far, 28 insurers and reinsurers have publicly refused to support EACOP. Without being insured, the project cannot move forward.
