As fires burn in Australia and cities flood in Indonesia, the reality and urgency of the climate crisis are clearer than ever.

Before MPs return to Parliament next week, let’s send a clear message: set partisan politics aside to tackle the climate crisis and uphold the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. 

Instead of building massive climate-wrecking projects like the Teck Frontier Mine and TransMountain and Coastal Gas Link pipelines, Canada needs to get to work building the solutions we truly need. We need mass investments to address growing inequality and create millions of good jobs in a renewable energy economy.

Call on MPs from across the political spectrum to make a Green New Deal their top priority in 2020.

Millions of people across Canada voted for our government to step up and do more to tackle the climate crisis. We know that the only real way to do that is with a made-in-Canada Green New Deal. 

We’re calling on MPs from across the political spectrum to make a Green New Deal their first priority in 2020. It’s about time our leaders set partisan politics aside to tackle the climate crisis and uphold the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. That means that instead of building massive climate-wrecking projects like the Teck Frontier Mine and the TransMountain and Coastal Gas Link pipelines, Canada needs to get to work building the solutions we truly need. It means making mass investments to address and growing inequality, respect Indigenous rights, and create millions of good jobs in a renewable energy economy.
