Ghana’s growth from a low-income country to a low-middle income status means that Ghana is energy-hungry. However, the cost of climate change exacerbated by the reliance on fossil fuels is a threat to this progress. Ghana needs a sustainable and climate-friendly energy solution to meet its development needs and propel the nation economically.
The recent report by the IPCC proves further, the need for an urgent and faster transition away from fossil fuel use. We take this opportunity to ask Hon. President Nana Akufo - Addo to take lead in Ghana’s pursuit of climate justice, protect our livelihoods and resources, as well as commit to achieving at least 30% renewable energy in the energy mix by 2030.
350 GROC wants to make sure this message is delivered to Hon President Nana Akufo. Add your voice to demand we keep fossil fuels in the ground and transition Ghana towards a renewable energy future.
Ghana is still praised as one of the most stable African democracies since the dawn of African independence led by the iconic Kwame Nkrumah; the time has come for Ghana to lead the way in breaking free from fossil fuels dependence.
It's time for true climate leadership - it's time to not only act on our climate commitments but have more ambition. We can't afford to wait any longer!

Dear President,
We’re at a tipping point. More than 20 years of international climate negotiations have not nearly been enough to keep the planet from warming and in Ghana and across Africa we are watching as Climate impacts escalate. We can no longer afford to procrastinate.
A Ghana, 100% powered by the sun and the wind is on our doorstep. Let's seize this opportunity and build a renewable energy future.
I want you to commit to transition Ghana to at least 30% renewable energy in the energy mix by 2030.
Signed,
