Trump has declared war on cleaner cars.
He has ordered the Transportation Department to roll back strong fuel economy standards, leave us all with dirtier air to breathe, a more dangerous climate to live in, and less money in our wallets. But Trump hasn’t won yet.

Re: Docket No. NHTSA-2025-0491
350.org and the undersigned strongly oppose the Trump administration’s proposal to ease the federal Corporate Average Fuel Economy standards.
Rolling back these fuel economy standards will make it easier for automakers to put more polluting fossil-fueled cars on our roads, and leave the American people with dirtier air to breathe, a more dangerous climate to live in, and less money in our wallets.
This proposal ignores decades of research that shows we must end our reliance on fossil fuels if we’re to avoid the worst impacts of the climate crisis. It also would put the U.S. even further behind the rest of the world in clean energy and EV technological advancements.
Do not ease the existing CAFE standards set by the Biden administration, and instead uphold the strong clean car standards that benefit us all.
Signed,
