Consumers Against Plastics

Based on clean-ups and waste brand audits, the following corporations are the consistent major plastic polluters in the Philippines and the world during 2019 to 2021:

    • Pepsi Cola;
    • Coca Cola;
    • Nestle;
    • Procter and Gamble;
    • Unilever; and,
    • Colgate Palmolive.

Their plastics pollute our creeks, rivers and seas and clog drainage systems. Their plastics damage mangroves and propellers of fishing boats, and the microplastics are eaten by fishes. Their plastics therefore affect our life, health, work and property.

But these corporations just continue producing plastics for their product packaging, and on their plastic packages can be found the words “recycle me”, “recycle”, “recycle ready” and “recyclable” and recycling marks or symbols. Scientists say plastics are not truly and wholly recyclable. Even if plastics are recyclable, these corporations are producing too much to recycle. Thus, plastics still end up on our streets, dump sites and bodies of water.

We, the undersigned, being consumers of products of these corporations, ask them to reduce their plastics and take actions to respect our consumer rights to healthy environment, safety, and information.
