This year's global climate talks, COP29, ended without the outcome we need to meet the urgency of the climate crisis.
Now all eyes are on Brazil — the host of the next UN climate talks, COP30. As host, they can push other countries to adopt ambitious climate plans before the next climate conference. Plans that fund safe, fair renewable energy and aim to end coal, oil and gas.
Brazil wants the world to see them as climate leaders. How they steer international climate cooperation over the coming year will be the real test.
