The coronavirus pandemic has turned our world upside down and laid bare the shocking scale of inequality in our society. It’s clear that after lockdown ends, we can’t just go back to the way things were before.

We need a new deal from our government that prioritises people, invests in our NHS and creates a robust, shockproof economy that is capable of tackling the climate crisis. 

We call on the UK government to deliver a recovery plan that:

1. Secures the health and basic needs of everyone – including food, housing and income
2. Protects and invests in our public services like low-carbon transport and the NHS
3. Delivers a safe climate and secure, unionised jobs with a Green New Deal
4. Invests in communities rather than bailing out toxic corporations
5. Builds solidarity across borders – sharing health and wealth with everyone.
