We call on the pension fund ABP to stop pumping the retirement money of teachers and civil servants into dirty fossil fuel companies. Use the €17.4 billion for a just and sustainable transition.
Divest our retirement money from the fossil fuel industry. Stop funding the climate crisis!

Ask ABP chairperson of the board Corien Wortmann to stop funding the fossil fuel industry 👇
Our house is on fire. The impacts of the climate crisis are getting worse by the day. Heat waves and droughts are causing wild fires and heat deaths. People are losing their homes because of hurricanes and floods.
We must keep coal, oil and gas in the ground to tackle the climate crisis. Fossil fuel executives are making billions while they are sabotaging climate policy through their cunning PR and lobby strategies.
Pension giant ABP fuels the climate crisis by investing 17.4 billion in the fossil fuel industry. This is money from teachers and civil servants in the Netherlands, who are obliged to build up their pensions with ABP. Their money goes to oil giants such as Shell and Exxon, companies with coal mines, companies that drill for oil and gas in the Arctic, and that produce the extremely polluting shale gas.
Over the whole world, people are rising up to fight the companies ABP invests in. In Argentina, the Mapuche community is fighting Shell, because of the dangerous earthquakes caused by fracking.
This is why ABP must stop funding the climate crisis. ABP is obliged to invest in the best interest of their own pension participants. Instead of investing in climate chaos, ABP should contribute to a fast and just energy transition to guarantee a safe world for people in the Global South, future generations and pension participants.
