Urgent: Phone Tanya Plibersek to stop weak environment laws

Right now, the Albanese Government is planning on ‘watering down ambition’ on their environment laws. Right after the resources industry told them to. At the same time, the Great Barrier Reef is suffering from the most severe coral bleaching on record.

Will you call the minister and ask her to pass environmental laws that actually protect the environment?

Phone Minister Plibersek: (02) 9379 0700

UPDATE: we've heard that the Minister has shut down her phone line for the day. Email her instead at: [email protected] or leave a comment on her facebook page.

What to say:

Say your name and where you’re calling from - if Minister Plibersek is your local MP be sure to let them know.

Say you’d like to leave a message for the Minister:

  • You’re worried about news stories that the government is planning on watering down environment laws and delaying reform.
  • You’re appalled that the Environment Minister is listening to the coal and gas industries instead of protecting nature from climate change.
  • Climate change is the biggest threat to nature - the Great Barrier Reef is being hit right now with record coral bleaching and forests in WA are collapsing.
  • We’re in a climate crisis and we need to see the government make changes to our environment laws that reflect that.
  • The new laws should stop heavily polluting projects from going ahead, not just tinker about the edges.

Thank them for their time.
