Indonesia, as the world's largest coal exporter, has failed to tackle climate crisis. Currently for the sake of economic growth, Indonesian Government is extracting more coal, fracking more oil and gas, and destructing more rainforest for palm oil production. Indonesia should take a big step to stop fossil fuels dependency.
We demand Indonesia Government to stop the expansion of fossil fuels industries, including coal extraction, gas fracking, gas and coal-fired power plants, and start the transition into renewable energy development. No more fossil fuels projects. Keep fossil fuels underground. Start the transition to clean, safe, sustainable and renewable energy.
Therefore, hundreds of climate activists and dozens of civil organizations, youth communities and artivist groups, are organizing a march in the capital city of Indonesia, Jakarta.
There will be a big march involving thousands of people in central Jakarta with music percussion, colorful banners and posters, big art installation, photo exhibition, and petition to push Indonesian Government stopping fossil fuels and starting renewable energy.
The organizers are:
350 Indonesia | KRuHA | JATAM | Sawit Watch | Pusaka | Solidaritas Perempuan | Aksi | People's Alliance on Anti-Nuclear | Sorge Magz | LSADI | Marjinal | and more..
