Native American votes could decide the race in South Dakota this year, and a win in South Dakota could swing the Senate against Keystone.
The Senate race in South Dakota could have a huge impact nationally -- and you have an opportunity to be part of it now, no matter where you live. In the last couple of weeks, we got word that Rick Weiland could have a chance at winning the Senate seat in South Dakota. He's run as a populist progressive, coming out strong against the Keystone XL pipeline and in favor of climate action. He’s also developed strong ties to the tribal leaders who are a driving force in the Native resistance to Keystone XL.
Right now, there’s a native-led grassroots coalition called “Lakota Vote” working to turn out record numbers of people through an eleventh-hour grassroots campaign. Your donation will support Native American organizers working directly in Lakota Sioux communities to increase voter turnout.
Your gift will support Native-led grassroots organizing in South Dakota, including Lakota Vote, Four Directions Inc, and the Native Youth Leadership Alliance. In the event that 350 Action raises funds in excess of what can be used in South Dakota, your gift will go toward helping run a bold set of climate campaigns in the U.S.
