Call Scott Stringer to #DivestNY

We <3 New York. But we don't love New York's investments in fossil fuel companies driving climate destruction. City Comptroller Scott Stringer, an elected official, is the legal custodian of the five NYC pension funds. In the face of a regressive federal government, we need Stringer to lead on divestment from fossil fuels and pipeline companies, and reinvest our money into clean energy and local union jobs. Call Comptroller Stringer today and let him know that it's time for him to side with New Yorkers -- not with the fossil fuel interests supported (and invested in) by Donald Trump.

What to say:

I'm calling to voice my support for divesting New York City's pension fund from fossil fuel companies. Now that Trump has pulled the US out of the Paris Agreement, we need local leaders like Comptroller Stringer to take a stand against fossil fuel interests by divesting -- and then reinvesting in green jobs for New Yorkers. 

Talking to the likes of Exxon doesn't work. Taking action by freezing new investments in oil and gas companies will. I hope Comptroller Stringer will be the climate champion we need.
