After 20 years of lobbying for international political action without success, the Pacific Climate Warriors are taking their fight directly to the source of climate change, the fossil fuel industry. Traveling from 13 Pacific Islands to Australia, the Warriors are going to stand up to the fossil fuel industry and save their homes.
Using traditional canoes, 30 Pacific Climate Warriors are going to paddle into the oncoming path of coal ships in an effort to shut down the world’s biggest coal port for a day.
We know the Pacific Warriors actions are going to be so powerful the fossil fuel industry will need to launch their multi-million dollar PR machines in an attempt to dismiss them. They will claim that the Pacific Warriors are just a small group acting alone. But we know they are speaking for frontline communities around the world who will be hit first and worst by catastrophic climate change.
There are two simple things that you can do to stand with the Pacific Warriors and show the fossil fuel industry, and the world, that they are not acting alone:
-
Add your name to this letter
Sign your name to the letter of solidarity on this page. The Climate Warriors will deliver this letter to Australia’s fossil fuel industry and its supporters to show that the world is standing with them. -
Show your solidarity on social media and share their story far and wide
Spread the word about the Climate Warriors and their fight to save their homes. Gather your family, friends, colleagues or community group to take a photo with a message of support for the Pacific Warriors. Hold up your message and post it to social media using the hashtag #StandUpForThePacific and include a link to this page. The louder we are the harder it will be for Australia’s fossil fuel industry to dismiss the Warriors. We will email you some resources to make this easy for you once you sign the letter on this page.
