Dear Prime Minister Trudeau

If you are serious about action on climate change, and standing up for what’s right, you should know that during times like this, moral leadership matters. Stand up to Trump by condemning the approval of Keystone XL.

Donald Trump just approved the permit for the Keystone XL tar sands pipeline, and he has pushed forward the Dakota Access fracked gas pipeline. This is part of a series of unjust decisions that Trump has made since his inauguration. Enough is enough. The majority of people in Canada reject Trump’s xenophobia, racism, misogyny and climate denial. It’s time for Prime Minister Trudeau to take a stand against the catastrophe unfolding south of the border.

Keystone XL is a carbon bomb that would cook the planet and violate the rights of Indigenous peoples all along its route. Trump has made it clear he doesn’t care about the climate by pledging to tear apart the Paris Agreement, erase years of progress in climate legislation, and appointing infamous climate change deniers to his cabinet.
