Divest Cape town from Fossil Fuels

It's more critical than ever for Cape Town to divest and cut ties from climate-destroying fossil fuel companies and reinvest in a sustainable economy that works for all. On May 12th this year, we delivered a petition and a letter to Mayor Patricia de Lille’s office demanding that Cape Town demonstrates its political power and commit to stop funding climate change. A demand that was backed by over a thousand people who have signed the petition — as well as by the best available science about what the world needs to avoid catastrophic climate impacts. However, after numerous follow up attempts on our petition's demands, we have not received a response or acknowledgement from the mayor’s office. Let’s get Cape Town on the right side of history. Send this letter to the Mayor now and tell them to stop funding climate change.
