Cleaner, lower-carbon transportation fuel is a practical reality. Oregon is launching an innovative new program that will dampen demand for dirtier fuels and spur green job growth in our state. But it won't work unless we can break the Big Oil's stranglehold.

The Clean Fuels Program requires reductions in the carbon content of Oregon’s transportation fuel over time, slowly adding to the mix a range of cleaner alternatives to petroleum.

Lower-carbon fuels—like sustainable biofuels, electricity, and biogas—are ready to deliver, if we give them a chance. The program will stimulate investments in a clean fuel industry that will put thousands to work, clear our air, protect our climate, and give us a buffer against spikes in petroleum prices.

But the Clean Fuels Program is under attack by Big Oil. The petroleum industry has a fuel monopoly, and they are desperate to keep it intact. They are putting up big money to ensure that clean fuels competitors are crushed before they have a chance to work.

Tell your legislators today not to give in to Big Oil’s big lobbyists and their fear tactics. Tell them to let the Clean Fuels Program move forward.
