Just this week – the City of Melbourne has become the 10th Australian council to go fossil free, joining over 450 institutions globally who are saying no to coal, oil and gas.

STEP 2: Locate your local council*
- New South Wales: click here.
- Victoria: click here.
- Queensland: click here.
- Western Australia: click here – type your address into the top right sidebar entitled “find your council”.
- Tasmania: click here.
- Northern Territory: click here and scroll down for contact details.
- South Australia: click here.
STEP 3: Give them a call and ask to speak/meet with a Councillor.
Key points to raise:
- Start by pointing out that: A growing number of governments in Australia and overseas are moving their money out of fossil fuels.

- Then ask your council: Where do they stand on fossil fuel divestment? Will they show climate leadership by joining the dozens of local governments who have already committed to divest?
