The Illinois Department of Natural Resources just released regulations on fracking here in Illinois that don't go nearly far enough to protect our communities.
These new regulations are supposed to protect us from toxic chemicals and make sure to hold the industry accountable when they don't follow the rules. But small fines and weak language aren't going to protect communities from toxins and the climate from being impacted by fracking.
If we're serious about stopping the climate crisis we have to push back on weak regulations that don't go far enough to protect our air, water, health, and fragile climate.
