The State Department announced that the one-and-only public hearing of this phase of Keystone XL Pipeline review will be held in Nebraska on April 18th.
While hundreds of thousands will submit public comments online, this is our chance to be together in-person to show the broad opposition to KXL. Since this is the ONLY public meeting during this phase of the project, we need to turn out in force. The good news: we're going to make it a party. There will be a BBQ, a rally, music, free t-shirts, and more.
Here are the key details:
What: Convergence for the State Department Keystone XL Hearing -- with a BBQ, a parade, and more!
Where: Heartland Events Center, 700 East Stolley Park Rd., Grand Island, NE 68801.
When: The hearing will be on Thursday April 18th from Noon until 8pm, but many people will be lining up early in the morning to reserve speaking spots in line. And if you can come the day before, we'll have a big community BBQ led by Nebraska ranchers and farmers!
Who: It'll be a party -- this is going to be a big event, with farmers, ranchers, local residents, Bold Nebraska, 350.org, and more.
RSVP by filling out the form on this page first, and if you're on Facebook you can RSVP there too!
One last thing: we'll be giving out free "Pipeline Fighter" shirts at the hearing in Nebraska. Check 'em out:
