Sunday 19 October | 10:00am | Queensland Maratime Museum
Join us for a walk and paddle along the river to show our support for Pacific Islanders who are facing up to the threat of climate change impacts on their homes and cultures.
This October, 30 Pacific Climate Warriors will be traveling to Australia to bring this story to our shores. Bringing with them traditional canoes built on their islands they will be taking a stand - sending the message that Australia needs to stop its reckless plans to expand our coal and gas industry.
Come and meet the Pacific Warriors and stand in solidarity with their campaign.
We will meet at the Maritime Museum in Southbank and make our way to Kangaroo Point.
You can either walk, or if you want, paddle along the river, led by the Warriors.
When you register indicate whether you want to hire a canoe or bring you own and we will follow up with all the information you need.
At Kangaroo Point we will use the sand bags to build an Island of Hope - sending a message around the world that we will stand in support of our Pacific neighbours.
Events in support of Pacific Warriors are taking place all over the country in October.
