New York State Senator and Chair of the Environmental Conservation Committee Todd Kaminsky just announced his support for the dirty Williams NESE fracked gas pipeline.

This dangerous pipeline would run under New York Harbor, threatening coastal communities and creating climate-destroying emissions for decades to come.

Dear Senator Kaminsky,

I am writing to urge you to rescind your support for the Williams NESE fracked gas pipeline and join the chorus of voices calling on Governor Cuomo to stop Williams for good.

The Williams pipeline presents a grave threat to New York Harbor's coastal communities and to our climate at large. With just over a decade left to slash global emissions in time to prevent the worst outcomes of the climate crisis, New York must focus on meeting the climate goals outlined in the CLCPA. The goals of the CLCPA will not be able to be met if the Williams pipeline is built.

There's more at stake in this fight than just the Williams pipeline. Allowing the Williams NESE pipeline to be built will embolden the fossil fuel industry to keep building fracked gas projects in our state. These destructive infrastructure projects will take decades to close, and do incalculable harm to New York's communities while they remain operational.

As Chair of the State Senate Environmental Conservation Committee and one of the legislators of the CCPA, you have a responsibility to all the people of New York to do what's best for our communities and climate. In order to fulfill the duties of your office, you must publicly oppose the Williams pipeline and urge Governor Cuomo to stop its construction for good.
