Canada On Fire Day of Action

[Campbell River] On Fire: Climate Emergency Day of Action

Wednesday, September 8, 11:30 AM
downtown Campbell River
Junction of Shoppers Row and St.Ann's
Campbell River, B.C., British Columbia, V9W2C5, Canada
As politicians gear up for an early federal election, it’s up to us to bring the impacts of climate change front and centre leading up to their campaign trail. On September 8th, while catastrophic climate events continue to erupt around us, Campbell River will be demanding emergency-level climate action. Co-hosted by local chapters of 350.org and Extinction Rebellion, we urge you to join us for a demonstration and march at the junction of Shoppers Row and St. Ann's at 11:30AM, to call for a moratorium on fossil fuel expansion and Just Transition legislation. Bring masks, signs, banners to show that climate change will be a central issue to voters, as record-breaking climate events ravage communities from coast to coast.

Rules:

Please make sure that you follow local and regional COVID-19 safety protocol in your area. We recommend wearing a mask and remaining socially distanced throughout the event.
