Hello Friend of the Planet,
In solidarity with the massive People's Climate March taking place in New York City on Sunday September 21, we would like to invite you and your friends to a march and photo op to stand up for preserving a livable planet in downtown Charleston.
Let's assemble (rain or shine!) at 1:00 o'clock at the fountain at Marion Square (King and Calhoun St.) and plan to walk down King Street. We'll have a banner and some placards and some flyers to hand out to interested fellow-pedestrians. Then we can take a few photos of our action to share with the good folks at 350.org.
If there are more than 50 of us, we will break into smaller groups in compliance with local regulations. Also, while DIY signs/placards are encouraged, please remember no dowels/sticks/etc.--just hold the poster board in your hands (though mounting your sign on a hula hoop is apparently permitted, too!). Be creative!
For more information on mobilizing for climate change, see below!
Thank you, and please circulate this widely to other interested people!
(Interested in combating global warming at the local level but not able to make it Sunday? Send me your email address and we'll keep you informed!)
