On September 21st, the eve of an historic summit on climate change, people across the world will take to the streets in their 100,000s to demand #ActionNotWords on climate change.

To build a safe and sustainable future, we must reclaim power from the fossil fuel industry, break its dirty grip on our politics and democracy; and demand climate justice.

On 21st September, let's come together as the Fossil Free Bloc to show the strength of the movement against this rogue industry.

From fossil fuel divestment, to ending sponsorship by fossil fuel companies, to frontline communities all over the world standing up and speaking out: our growing movement is turning up the heat to ditch fossil fuels and stop them standing in the way of a better future.

However you're campaigning to bring down the fossil fuel industry - bring along your most creative banners, slogans, chants and energy. See you there!

The giant ‘Carbon Bubbles’ bouncing along with the Fossil Free Bloc represent the enormous oil, coal and gas reserves already held by fossil fuel companies. We're here to make sure (at least) 80% of those remain underground.

The Fossil Free bloc starts at King’s College in solidarity with the Kings’ College Fossil Fuel Divestment Campaign. We’ll then join the march as a bloc with our giant inflatable carbon bubbles, bouncing them through the city with the masses.

Pre march actions:

10.15 am: LSE students to chalk a divestment message along the Universities central thoroughfare, surrounded by ‘Carbon Bubbles’, representing the financial risk of investing in fossil fuels 

10.45 am: UCL students to create dystopian fossil fuel landscape with fake power station towers and oil slicks, playing on the ‘Change the World’ slogan of the engineering department, and the £14.5 million invested by the University in the Fossil Fuel industry. 

12.30pm: Solidarity demo with the Kings College Fossil Free campaign


Post march actions: 

Join Reclaim the Power to visit the Conservative HQ to highlight climate denying MPs and links to the fossil fuel industry. Follow the clear bubble suits at the end of the march.
