On July 4th, communities across Canada will take action en masse along and beyond the routes of pipelines like Energy East, Kinder Morgan, Line 9, and Northern Gateway to defend the water, land and climate. We will mobilize to demonstrate that we, the people, are greater than the tar sands. We will mobilize to demonstrate that we are ready to move past extraction technologies like fracking, and past the influence of big oil in our politics.
As we approach one of the most important elections in this country’s history and another round of international climate negotiations, it is crucial for us to unite and demonstrate to our leaders that we are ready for real climate action.
If politicians refuse to lead us we will lead them.
Join us at Harbourside Park on July 4th at 12:00pm in St. John’s
Guest speakers at the event include Annie Clair, a Mi’kmaq land defender from Elsipogtog First Nation, and Miles Howe, independent journalist with the Halifax Media Co-op.
