Led by Robin de Carteret, the 4.6km Deep Time Walk, journeys through the 4.6 billion year history of our Earth, where each step represents half a million years of Earth history. Offering a unique insight into the evolution of life, planetary self-regulation and climate change, the Deep Time Walk starts at the formation of the solar system and the creation of Earth, and covers significant events in Earth's deep history, including the formation of the Moon, plate tectonics, the dinosaurs and much more. The walk will put into context humanity's rich ancestral heritage and give you an insight into the interconnectedness of life. It will help you comprehend deep time - the vast age of our Earth - and ends with a striking finale where you’ll experience what a minuscule amount of time it has taken for us humans to radically alter the whole planet and threaten the continued functioning of our living world.
