Join us this September, as millions of us walk out of our homes and workplaces to join young people in the streets for the biggest global climate strike yet.
Our house is on fire. The climate crisis is an emergency but we’re not acting like it. Invite your colleagues, friends, family, clubs, and community. We need everyone.
The plan is to split the program into three stages. The first stage we will commence at 10H00, where we will be reading our demands, concerning climate change, to the government. Please note that the demands will be read in front of the participants and local news' crews that will be present, ensuring that not just the government hears our cry, but also the people of the Republic of South Africa.
The second stage of the program will be the main event. The march will begin an hour later, at 11H00. It is at this time we will make our way from the Pretoria National Botanical Garden, heading south of the N1, to Ext 136. Along the way, our sponsors will have refreshments for the participants. We believe that this should take an approximated duration of three hours, using the average walking speed of 1.4 meters/second.
The third and final stage of our program is all about rest. After a three hour march, we would like to have a period up until 16H00, allowing participants to recuperate. Here vendors and sponsors will supply participants with much-needed sources of energy, ensuring a safe journey home.
