We, at Pachamama Project, are keen to get people together in solidarity to demonstrate our community’s support for the global #ClimateStrike (20-27 September). Millions of us are invited to walk out of our homes and workplaces to join young people in the streets for the biggest global climate strike yet. We've taken it upon ourselves to initiate a peaceful rally in Knysna on Friday 20 September. For just 1 hour (12:30-13:30), we will gather at the traffic lights of Waterfront Dr and Long St, in Knysna (near the entrance to Thesen Island). From there we can walk up Long Street, passed Knysna Primary School and up onto the main road towards the municipality and police station. All are welcome. Bring your painted signs and banners, dress up for the occasion, do whatever it takes to draw attention to a climate issue or solution close to your heart. "Our house is on fire" - the climate crisis is an emergency but we’re not acting like it. Tell your colleagues, friends, family, clubs, and community. We need everyone.
