Global Climate Strike

#ClimateStrike in Oval @ The Foundry

Friday, September 20, 10:30 AM
The Foundry
17 Oval Way
London, England, SE11 5RR, United Kingdom
We will be leaving the building at 10.30am, travelling to Parliament Square for the start of the strike at 11am, staying until 12 and then returning to the office. If you can’t take that long, another option is to stop work for 30 minutes at 11am, and stand outside with banners – or do whatever works for your organisation. Or of course you can strike for the whole day. As you will know, young people have called on adults to join them in striking, and not to leave them doing it on their own. Lots of trade unions and other sectors are planning to join in, and it seems right that the NGO sector should also be involved. After all, the environmental emergency threatens everything that NGOs have been working for for decades. The strike takes place just before António Guterres meets with world leaders on Sept 23rd; that meeting represents one of the last chances for the world to take the necessary bold and rapid action to avert global catastrophe (although many people around the world are already experiencing extreme difficulty because of climate change).
