Our City Council recently declared a "Climate Emergency", like many other cities around the world. However, I fear that this is simply a token gesture and that many other civic issues are deemed more important by these politicians.
That is why I'm bringing the Global Climate Strike right to their front door. Staff, elected officials, and anyone visiting City Hall will see our display - and hopefully stop, ask questions, and show their support for the fact that much more than words are needed to address the Climate Crisis.
My inspiration is the weekly Climate Strike actions by Greta Thunberg, and the many other youths around the world that refuse to let our world destroy itself. Being of an older generation, and having contributed to the 'business as usual' negative impacts on nature, I must take what time I have left to add my voice and actions to help heal the planet.
