There will be experienced people present to coordinate the action, and answer any questions you may have before the start of the actual event. It's important you know a few things about XR if you decide to participate: - We are a non-violent organisation. Any form of violence (verbal included) is out of bounds for any XR action. We also remain respectful towards the people affected by our action. - Anyone participating should adhere to the principles and values of XR (see https://rebellion.earth/the-truth/about-us/) - We look out for each other during an action, but you are ultimately responsible for your own actions. You are always allowed to step out of an action if you no longer want to participate. Here is some more information about swarming: - In swarming, we step onto a road at a pedestrian crossing (at a green light for pedestrians) and stay there to block the road. We use banners to make a clear demarcation. After 7 minutes, we wait for another green light to go off the road. We then wait for a few minutes to let some of the traffic through and repeat. - You can expect some people to get angry about the wait. We try to deescalate these situations, and there will be people present who have practised this or have experience deescalating.
