The United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres is convening a Climate Action Summit on the 23 September 2019 in New York. The summit will be themed "A Race We Can Win, A Race We Must Win”. It will be aimed at boosting ambition and accelerating action to combat climate change as per the Paris Climate Agreement. To help build momentum and put pressure on our leaders to take climate action, Earthlife Africa and partners will be having a peaceful march on the 20th of September. We will be joining together with the climate justice movement globally who will be taking actions across the world on that day. Join the march at the starting point of Pieter Roos Park (Parktown) at 09h30 for 10h00 and it will end at Gauteng legislature at 13h00. Part of the messaging is to call for acceleration of a just transition towards a low carbon, renewable energy future.
