Join us this September, as millions of us walk out of our homes and workplaces to join young people in the streets for the biggest global climate strike yet. Our house is on fire. The climate crisis is an emergency but we’re not acting like it. Invite your colleagues, friends, family, clubs, and community. We need everyone.
The aim is to engage with, inform and educate Folkestone residents about the climate emergency, while encouraging more people to get involved through both personal and collective action.
This event is going to be part strike, part march. We appreciate that not everyone will be free to stop working for the day but we hope that many of you will be able to join us at least over the lunch hour. If you have banners, placards, drum and whistles, that is great. The climate emergency is nothing to be quiet about.
The plan is to start at Junction 13 and walk down Sandgate Road and the Old High Street to Custom Folkestone on the Harbour Arm. After a short stop there, and some words from our speakers, we will head back up the Old High Street and through town to Junction 13.
