On 20 September 2019 the Support Centre for Land Change (SCLC) in collaboration with a local youth organization, Ilizwi Lenyaniso Lomhlaba, as well as local schools and religious institutions, will be taking to the streets to demand a meeting with the Sarah Baartman District Municipality, the Dr. Beyers Naude local municipality and relevant Portfolio Committees.
Our message is clear:
We are calling for the Dr. Beyers Naude local municipality to be declared a frack-free zone, and for the Sarah Baartman District Municipality and Dr. Beyers Naude local municipality to invest in renewable energy infrastructure.
