For over three years now, students and staff have been demanding that UNSW divest from fossil fuels and start taking climate change seriously.
UNSW Council are finally starting to listen. But they still don't think fossil fuels are as morally objectionable as tobacco or cluster bombs - therefore they are resistant to divest.
We know that fossil fuels are impacting our planet right now -- and we need the university council to understand this.
So on Thursday of week 10, we'll be redecorating the library lawn with a bleached coral reef to let students & staff know the truth about UNSW's investments. At 4pm, we'll be walking the reef over to chancellery to make sure this is a message they can't ignore.
We need as many people as possible to show up & show chancellery staff that the time for hestitating is over.
