Global Divestment Day 2015: Carbon Bubble Discussion
Climate advocates 350.org are organizing the first ever Global Divestment Day (GDD) on 13-14 February 2015! The fossil fuel divestment movement intends to tackle one of the most recognizable and yet unrelenting challenges the human race faces: our dependance on fossil fuels! During the GDD thousands of people on five continents are mobilized to campaign for the divestment of fossil fuels and investment in renewables. All over the Netherlands people will take action and organize events at public institutions such as universities, municipalities and the dutch parliament. Check this map to get an overview http://gofossilfree.org/divestment-day/
During the GDD the Erasmus Sustainability Hub will organize an interactive discussion about the carbon bubble and divesting in fossil fuels. Snacks and drinks will be offered at the Hub followed by the display of the documentary ‘Do the Maths’ featuring Bill McKibben, a prominent American environmentalist. The discussion panel will consist of a researcher, fossil free activist and a student. We are looking forward to welcoming you to the hub and have a fruitful and intellectual discussion.
