End Climate Delay Day of Action

End Climate Delay: Salt Spring

Saturday, July 2, 2:00 PM
Centennial Park
100 Fulford-Ganges Rd
Ganges, British Columbia, V8K 2T9, Canada
It’s been one year since we experienced the deadliest weather event in Canada’s history – the Heat Dome. Extreme heat took more than 600 lives last summer, but both John Horgan and Justin Trudeau continue to break ground on new fossil fuel projects. That’s why on June 29th, communities across the country will mobilize to send a clear message: the climate delay has to end. Join us in Ganges at Centennial Park Gazebo to call for Just Transition legislation and real action to accelerate the shift off of fossil fuels. Together, we can show our politicians that the public will no longer accept their dangerous climate delay. Bring friends, family and signs as we demand our politicians muster up the courage to combat the climate crisis. --- Schedule: --- 2:00pm - Gather at Centennial Park Lawn and Gazebo || 2:15pm - Speakers, and sharing stories from the Heat Dome and Floods last year || 2:45pm - What a just transition to renewable energy looks like, and opportunities for further climate action || 3:00pm - Group photo to send to elected representatives This event is taking place on the unceded traditional territories of the SENĆOŦEN and Hul’q’umi’num’ speaking people.
