New Yorkers have held off the fracking industry thus far, but Governor Cuomo might OK drilling in the state without waiting for the results of ongoing studies that are examining the impacts of this dangerous industry.

Fracking requires thousands of pounds of toxic chemicals and millions of gallons of water for each well, all to extract gas that will only accelerate the climate crisis that is already taking its toll on the state. Despite that, Governor Cuomo recently said, "Nobody ever said we were waiting for the studies to be finished," meaning he could OK fracking at any time.
