More help is always needed at the Leard Forest blockade camp. Whether you want to take part in an action to prevent construction of the mine, or lend a hand in the kitchen or around the farm – all are welcome.
Read on below for all the info on the camp, and register on the right to visit.
About the camp – a local farmer is accommodating the camp on his land. The property is near the Maules Creek township and has a kitchen, water supply, cold showers, toilets and ample space to pitch a tent. When you register will get in touch to give you directions and the latest details.
Food and water – three communal meals are shared at the camp each day. It is asked that a donation of $10 per day be made to cover the food and other services you use. There is easy access to potable water.
Tents – it’s preferable to bring your own tent and camping gear. However, if you don’t have access to this gear, there are spare tents to share at the camp – just let us know when you register.
Getting there:
Car – the camp is 7 hours from Sydney and 8 hours from Canberra and Brisbane. Once you register to make the trip we’ll send through the driving instructions
Train – there is a service once a day from Sydney, departing at 9:30am. Get off at Narrabri Station and we’ll arrange to pick you up.
Need a lift? – let us know when you register and we’ll try and connect you with other folks travelling up.
