On October 20th-22nd at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) SRC election, all UTS students have the opportunity to vote in a referendum with the question:
Should the University of Technology Sydney stop investing in companies whose primary business is the extraction, exploration, processing and transporting of coal, oil and gas (fossil fuels)?
Will you vote YES to turn UTS into a climate leader?
Only students can vote. If you are a staff member, alumni or anyone else interested in seeing the University of Technology Sydney divest, like us on Facebook to learn about opportunities to support divestment in the future.
Why Vote YES?
Climate change is our biggest challenge. Universities must show leadership.
A safe climate means keeping most fossil fuels in the ground. Business as usual will give us runaway climate change within our lifetimes.
If it is wrong to wreck the climate, it is wrong to profit from that wreckage.
Other universities have already gone fossil free. Help us make UTS a leader!
