Coal is dirty, dangerous, and outmoded. It's yesterday's fuel -- but that isn't stopping Big Coal from drawing up some big plans for the Western states. They want to build a massive export terminal in southern Washington, so that they can ship coal from Wyoming and Montana to markets all over the world.

If the terminal in Longview, WA is built, coal companies would transport coal in open rail cars through countless western communities, threatening public health, public safety, and economic vitality.

The Longview terminal is currently in a critical public comment period. Local, state, and federal agencies will use the comments submitted to draft an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), which will be used to make permitting decisions for the terminal proposal.

Now is our chance to keep Big Coal out of Longview and out of our communties. Add your voice to the thousands of others saying "NO" to coal export! We can do better.
