Sunday, September 21, 11:00 AM Piccadilly Gardens and then Manchester Central (formerly GMEX)Frack Free Greater Manchester in conjunction with Greater Manchester Association of Trades Union Councils and others, are organising a People's Climate March in Manchester on the 21st September in solidarity with marches in New York, London and elsewhere, which are calling for urgent action by the World's Governments to address the growing threat of irreversible and catastrophic climate change. We will marching to, and linking up with an already planned lobby of the Labour Party Conference on the same day on an anti-fracking and action on climate change theme. We are calling on Labour to oppose the Government's Infrastructure Bill in the next Parliamentary session, and to give a manifesto commitment that if they are elected, they will ban fracking and implement the proposals of the one million climate jobs report. The lobby already has broad backing and we are confident of extending that to a People's Climate March from Piccadilly Gardens to the conference venue at Manchester Central slightly earlier in the day https://www.facebook.com/events/729103837151412/ Facebook event page for the People's Climate March part will be notified asap.
